Monarch Labs announced today the market launch of its new, proprietary wound dressing specifically designed to make maggot therapy more easy, quick and simple to administer. Monarch Labs has been allowed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to produce and market this new wound care device under the trade name: LeFlap.™

Monarch Labs will sponsor a maggot therapy workshop on April 4, 2009. Dr. Ronald Sherman & the BTER Foundation will present their "Principles & Practice of Maggot Therapy" in Irvine. This program has traveled around the country, with co-sponsors like the University of California, University of Arizona, Cornerstone Hospitals, Wild on Wounds Conference, Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, and others.
